Yorkie wih seizures help?

My dog has been having seizures for almost a year and at first they only happened every few months but he's had atleast 3 in the past week. He's been to the vet and prescribed some medicine but it seems to be getting worse. Any help or tips on how to help? Maybe what triggers the seizures?
