My 18 mths Infant seems to have unlimited energy.... is he prone to hyperactive syndrome?

When my wife was expecting our 1st baby.. the fetus always kicks and somersault in the womb..1st sign its going to be hyperactive.. now at 18 mths.. i noticed my baby boy sleep pattern as such... Afternoon nap around 2-3 hours.. usually around 2pm- 4pm/5pm... 8 hours at nite, around 12am/1am - 8am... so for each day, he sleeps around 11 hours. He never seem to be attentive of what i am going to tell him, never allow me to hug him more than 10 seconds...always running around, exploring, tearing papers, making a mess out of the house... unlimited energy... only time he can quiet down is when the TV Commercials are out... My parent was asking me if my baby boy is considered hyperactive and i am concerned..and also at 18 mths, he only knows how to say a few words...such as mummy,daddy, eat, drink and a lot of Alien speeches which i cannot even understand.. while i noticed a few of my neighbour baby girl of the same age, being able to communicate and have a strong verbal capability than mine... is it of a concern as well?
